Here's the deal. It's me watching The Xcerts live. Of course I'm excited. They are one of my favourite bands and knowing I get to see them live gives me something to look forward to. They're a little ray of sunshine in my life - always have, and I intend to always keep it that way.
I used to like starting gig reviews with little catchphrases, but it's too much effort trying to turn my feelings into a catchy couple of words, and it's not real enough, and I just want this to be feelings and nothing else.
In 2015, while I was at T in the Park, a smaller festival was taking place near Cheltenham, in south west England : 2000 Trees. I adored every single minute of T, but there was still a part of me that would have loved to be surrounded by all these trees. My friends all were there and kept praising the event, and the likes of Deaf Havana, We Are The Ocean, Bury Tomorrow and The Xcerts were playing.
Little old me managed to save up a little bit to treat herself to a little something in January. When The Xcerts announced they would be a part of the Independent Venue Week, my choice of treat was made for me.
The first half of 2015 looks completely calm and relaxed compared to the second half - I went mental and started embracing the infamous "yolo" motto to its fullest. 2015 from July to December included an almost full tour, more random gigs all over the place and the usual jumping in a Megabus thingy that I'm most known for. The only thing that didn't budge an inch was how emo I am. Most of these shows included tears. Lots of them.
Brace yourselves, folks - I have a lot to say about the three hundred and sixty-five days that we have just left behind. (Also, happy new year!)(Is it still acceptable to say happy new year on the 20th? Asking for a friend)
